All About Mary Ryan Ravenel
Mary Ryan Ravenel is the ex-wife of former American reality star and politician Thomas Ravenel. The two got married in 1995 but then separated after just thirteen months; however, they divorced in 1998. During their time together, they did not have children.
After their divorce, Mary Ryan Ravenel kept a low profile, and little is known about her. She has not mentioned if she married anyone or if she has children. Besides, she is not active on social media platforms, and it is hard to tell what is happening in his life.
Her Ex-Husband’s Romantic Life
Upon their divorce, Thomas Ravenel started romantically involving himself with several women. Some of the women he dated appeared with him in the reality show Southern Charm. Mary’s ex-husband dated Kathryn Dennis, and they had two children together but were never married. They started fighting for custody of their children after their separation.
The custody issue ended in 2019 when a court ruled they would have joint custody over the children. After their nasty separation, Mary’s ex-husband dated Heather Mascoe and had a son, Jonathan Jackson Ravenel, who was born via cesarean section. After the birth of their son, they broke up for some time before getting back together again.

Thomas supported Jim DeMint, who won the election but was fined for an election offense.
In 2006, Mary’s ex-husband ran for the position of Treasurer in South Carolina, winning against Grady Patterson, who had served nine terms. In 2012 Thomas did not run for Treasurer as he supported Ron Paul. In 2014, Mary’s ex-husband ran for U.S. Senator in South Carolina but lost to the incumbent Lindsey Graham.
Battery and Assault Cases against Mary’s Ex-Husband
Mary’s ex-husband was accused in April 2018 of sexually assaulting Debbie Holloway Perkins. The two had met through Tinder, but things did not go well on their first date. Debbie’s daughter mentioned that her mother was withdrawn and could not disclose the issue due to her agreement with Mary’s ex-husband.
A month later, Haymaker, a company that produced Southern Charm, said it would investigate the allegations thoroughly. In May 2018, Dawn Ledwell also alleged that Thomas Ravenel had sexually assaulted her. Mary’s ex-husband pleaded guilty to assaulting Dawn Ledwell a year later and was fined 500 dollars.
Drug Charges Against Thomas Ravenel
Mary’s ex-husband was arraigned in court in 2007 for cocaine distribution charges. He was accused of buying cocaine in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2005. At the time of the case hearing, Thomas was serving as the Treasurer of South Carolina, but he was relieved of his duties by governor Mark Sanford.
Given his federal cocaine charges, Mary’s ex-husband resigned as the South Carolina Treasurer. He went to rehab, and on March 4, 2008, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
