Her Father’s Career

Tamiko’s father played music from a young age; while in high school, he was part of a band called Pacific Ocean, where he was their lead singer. He performed with the band in clubs and events in Los Angeles. While in college, Tamiko’s father took acting lessons, after which he stopped performing music and diverted to acting.

In acting, Edward started with theatre productions before breaking into television. He earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance on one of his Broadway plays. On tv, Edward starred as police Lieutenant Martin Castillo in the series Miami Vice for five years, a role for which he won an Emmy and Golden Globe award.

Tamiko Olmos’s father has been married three times; he first married Kaija Keel on December 29, 1971. Kaija is the daughter of actor and singer Howard Keel. Edward and his wife Kaija remained married for over 20 years and had two children. After divorcing in 1992, Tamiko’s father married actress Lorraine Bracco at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.

Edward’s children, including Tamiko Olmos, were present as he exchanged wedding vows with Lorraine. However, the marriage did not turn out as expected, divorcing in 2002. Tamiko’s father married Lymari Nadal in 2002 but separated after 11 years together.

Assault Accusations Against Tamiko’s Father

Tamiko Olmos’s father has been accused on two occasions of sexual assault; a teenager accused him in 1992 of flirting and touching her while watching television. Despite denying the allegations, Edward James made a cash settlement with her family. Tamiko’s father was also accused of sexual assault in 1997 by a woman in a hotel room in South Carolina.
